Blitong Original

Authentic Craftsmanship, Uncompromised Flavor

Our Original Biltong is a 100% natural product made from air-dried, hand-produced beef. We prepare it from 96% premium Greek free-range beef and we spiced it only with salt, natural flavorings, and dextrose. In addition, we add a little taste of boukovo, a mild and smoky Greek chili flake that adds the warmth you need. This biltong was made using the traditional South African curing method and has been dried for the optimal time to keep the meat’s natural tenderness while adding more and more umami flavor to it. Each bite packs protein: this meat snack has 60g of protein per 100g of preparation. So the biltong not only provides you with a nutritious snack but it is also a great source of protein, ideal for athletes, people that exercise, and those who want to build muscles faster and help them recover. In essence, this is a high-protein, deliciously flavored snack that not only satisfies the umami and savory depth but also is slightly spiced, which makes it perfect for taking along on your active lifestyle.

How Can I Enjoy Biltong Original?

Biltong Original is a product that is characterized by its straightforward, genuine flavor and offers such an experience whether it is eaten alone, included in a gourmet dish, or enjoyed with artisanal bread and dips. Thinly sliced is the way to go if you want this naturally cured biltong to be at its best. In this manner, it is uncovering its very essence: the deep taste of meat and a velvety, almost dissolving, texture. This rich protein source is a great choice for snacking on its own or combining it with nuts, cheeses, and dried fruits on a charcuterie board.

What Wine or Drinks Pair Well with Biltong Original?

The deep, naturally cured flavor of this biltong pairs beautifully with medium to full-bodied red wines such as Malbec, Xinomavro, or Cabernet Sauvignon, which complement its umami richness. A hoppy IPA or dark lager balances its subtle spice, while a smooth bourbon or smoky mezcal enhances its depth. For a lighter pairing, a crisp white wine like Assyrtiko or a classic gin & tonic provides a refreshing contrast to its bold, meaty character.
